These collages are from a series of travel projects. While in a new place, I collect scraps of paper and objects including random trash, newspapers, magazines, product packaging, abandoned toys, and any other treasures that catch my eye. I then combine these items to relay a narrative. These works become love letters to each city. They are my way of interacting with a place differently than I might if just casually passing through. Finding the pieces takes me into back alleys, shops, and parts of a city that I might not ever have approached. The only rule is that every component of the work must be found while on that trip.
